Major Robert 'Rex' King-Clark demonstrates the 'Tommy Gun' (M1928 Thompson Sub-Machine Gun) to members of D Company. Here Rex is demonstrating firing one of these from each hand: 'It's really very easy'.

Both guns have had their shoulder stocks removed to make them lighter and easier to handle.

Rex was second in command of the 2nd Battalion at the time.
